Oh Boy! Life Life Life! Well once again I find myself posting months later than planned. Well, Jace has had his esophagus dialated twice now with a third time coming up in about 2 weeks. The GI Doc was very surprised to find that Jace's esophogus was only 2mm wide (about the size of the tip of a pen)! He was able to stretch it out to about 9mm (about the size of a whole pen around), but was unable to get his scope all the way through the first time. The second visit, he found that Jace's esophogus had narrowed back down to 2mm again, but he was able to stretch it wider this time and get his scope all the way through, so that's good. Jace is eating the best that he ever has, which is fantastic, but we'll find out more over the next few months what we're looking at in the long run. If his esophogus doesn't stay open, then he will need to have his surgery repeated. We also will be meeting with the ENT specialist and Jace will repeat his special hearing test on July 8th, so hopefully we'll find out what we're looking at in regards to his hearing. Jace has had a couple of different illnesses in the past month which hasn't been super fun, but he's feeling fairly well now and we've had super silly moments even if we haven't all been up to snuff. Jace has just started cracking up when others laugh, which is ridiculously funny and he has made me laugh so hard I've cried on several occasions. He is now getting out of sitting onto his tummy the right way and is just starting to want to crawl, but it's going to take a little while longer before he gets that down. He has 8 shiny little teeth to bite things with including his mommy on occasion. He also loves putting things in a container and taking them out again. Jace also just decided one night to take his bottle from me and feed himself and he hasn't looked back since! I can't believe my little man is going to be a year old in less than a month! :( Time really does fly! It truly is amazing to see how far he has come! Bryce passed his classroom portion of his paramedic program which is awesome! Now he's about to start his hospital clinicals, so life is going to get super busy for him again in the near future! My preschool is ready to go and licensed now...finally! I am hoping to open up for business the beginning of August. Here's a few pics of my preschool.Overall life is great and we are looking forward to spending time with friends and family this summer and enjoy summer fun together! Here's some fun pics and videos from the past couple of months.

More Random Occurrences

Well Bryce is almost done with his in-class portion of his Paramedic program, so yay! Next he's got his hospital hours and then last he has his internship on an ambulance. He's hoping to be done this October! I have been very busy getting our home ready to be inspected by the child care licensing people, which I am proud to say is pretty much there and my application has been accepted. Now I just have to get Bryce fingerprinted and get inspected, which will hopefully happen within the next month and a half or so. Life is pretty good! I love having my home neat and organized! I have also been really trying to exercise and go walking with Jace every day, which we both really enjoy. I love my sweet little dude! He's so funny, because he's got this little stubborn streak so he refuses to even try crawling, so instead he just rolls across the floor to get where he wants and when it doesn't work he accusses me of being at fault. He's also talking alot now and it just cracks me up to see his multitude of expressions and silly sounds that he uses while conversing with you. Babies are so funny! He's also discovered that he really likes exploring different textures. He is so fast during meals that I have to be careful to at least get most of the food into his mouth before he dumps it over very sneakily and smears it all over. here he is playing in dried beans (don't worry I was right there to make sure he didn't put them in his mouth, which he didn't even try to by the way) and also dry baby cereal.

Here's a little video of Jace doing crunchies, he really goes all out trying to get those abs in shape!

Where does the time fly to?

Well, I guess I've got a lot of summing up to do. Let's see... Jace got his ear tubes surgically placed on March 30 and had a hearing test directly after. We had to leave our house by 5am in order to get to the hospital by 6am and Jace hadn't had anything to eat or drink since 10pm the night before, so I was sure that he was going to be a bear. But I was very pleasantly surprised! Jace was just as happy as could be all morning! The results were not as positive as I had hoped. Jace has very tiny ear drums and canals, so we'll just have to wait and see if that is a problem or not. Also he had a lot of granulation in his ears that the doctor could not remove during surgery, so Jace had to have special ear drops that were supposed to break it down and hopefully clear it out...we'll see. The hearing test did not show us any new results because of the complications with Jace's ears, so we'll have to repeat it later. Jace has also been having difficulties eating foods that are thicker or that have lumps, so on May 5th he will go back to the hospital to have an endoscopy of his esophogus and if they find that it has narrowed, they will dilate it, which is not a very scary or long procedure. While he's still under, his ENT doctor will also recheck his ears and his hearing test will be repeated...yay! A very busy day! I think that I can tell a difference in his hearing already though. He responds to sounds that he never used to and his baby talk has been different ever since the surgery. He says mama sounds even if he doesn't know that he's saying mama, which is exciting to me. Overall Jace is doing great, he was almost 17 lbs last week and his top two front teeth are coming in, which is not fun at all!Look at how gnarly his poor little gums are!We had a nice Easter Weekend with family. My mom, my stepdad, Jace and I visited my Nana in Los Gatos, CA and had a lovely time with her on Friday, then Mom & Robert watched Jace on Sat. so Bryce and I could see Clash of the Titans, which was pretty good except that the action scenes were so actiony that I think they could possibly cause seisures...haha, no but really I had to look away from time to time to save my eyes. Then on Sunday my stepmom Catherine came over and we all watched our church's General Conference, which we lovingly call Jammie Church and we eat yummy food and enjoyed being entertained/distracted by the cute baby in the room.

Busy Months!

Well, a whole lot has happened over the past almost 2 months since I last posted. Jace is now sleeping in his big boy crib in his own room now, Hooray! Bryce has moved back into our bedroom now, so the spare/preschool room is open to work on now. I've been working on getting our home ready to be licensed every chance I get, but the progress is slow. Jace is 7 months old now and is getting a bit more easy to handle now. He is on a set schedule finally and it makes life beautiful! He takes 2 naps a day, one at 10am and one around 3pm, is eating baby food 3 times a day and enjoying it for the most part, takes a lovely bath after dinner and goes night night around 7:30pm and sleeps until 7:30am with 2 brief feeds during the night. Life is good when you get some sleep, let me tell ya! Jace also cut his first tooth on Monday Feb. 1 and his second tooth a week and a half later, which is super exciting, yet awfully sad at times, because he is just miserable and he isn't afraid to let you know it! He is just getting so cute and fun though too! He's really starting to develop such a personality! He's super silly and ACTIVE! And he is starting to figure out what foods he likes and which ones he doesn't. He's finally getting closer to getting on the weight charts, he weighed 13 lbs, 11 oz almost 2 weeks ago and has rolls on his thighs! He is also reaching at people's faces now, I have to be careful or he'll gouge my eyes out! ;) One huge thing in Jace's life now is that he will be getting tubes put in his ears to drain fluid within a month and hopefully that will clear up his hearing issues. There is still a chance that he will still need hearing aids, but I'm hoping not. Bryce is still very busy, but is settling into the whole dad thing a bit more now and is really starting to enjoy spending time with Jace, which Jace just loves! I am feeling immensley better now with more sleep, which gives me more energy, which allows me to get more done and feel like I've accomplished something. Yay!

Here's some pictures and videos from the last 2 months. :)

Random Cuteness!

Here's some random cute pictures over the past few weeks, sorry about the sideways one, it keeps on turning it when I upload it and I don't know why. :)

Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays to one and all! Our holidays were fairly mellow, Bryce had to work a 12 hour shift Christmas Eve. and 24 hour shifts on Christmas day and New Years day, so unfortunately he missed out, but the paychecks will be nice. My mom and step-dad came to visit us a couple of weeks before Christmas, so Jace and I spent Christmas Eve at Bryce's grandparent's on his dad's side and Christmas day with Bryce's family on his mom's side and with my step-mom and step-grandma. It was nice visiting with everyone. I have never seen such a spoiled child before! Jace got so many presents! But he is now really getting very interested in toys, so he'll enjoy them. He is also now a rolling fiend! Pretty much every time I put him on his tummy he'll push right up and roll over onto his back! Hooray! Jace is also really getting quite a personality and he's so cute to watch and play with. He's also very vocally opinionated, he tells me what's what all day long! :) He is also sleeping in his crib now, although we haven't quite gotten down the whole sleeping through the night thing. He has also started eating food! He had green bean puree for the past couple of days and I'm thinking about trying either squash or bananas next. Fun stuff!

Jace the Magnificent!

So to catch you all up... Jace is now just over 11 lbs and is starting to turn into a bit of a chunk thanks to us switching him to soy formula! :-D He is eating like nobody's business and growing so fast! He is 5 months old now and is starting to fit into his 0-3 month clothes nicely now! He has rolled over a few times and is practicing at improving and is just now purposely reaching for things (sometimes). He LOVES dancing with his mommy (especially to Christmas and Salsa music!) and walking to the local park. He also just had his first successful cereal feed with a spoon last Sunday and was all smiles about it! He is still very demanding and high energy which drives his mommy a wee bit (or a lot bit) loco. He is only sleeping 2-3 hours at a time throughout the night, which makes it really hard for me to get much of any sleep and we are also dealing with the teething pains. I'm really hoping that once he starts eating solids, he'll start to sleep longer at night and my goal is to get him out of my room and into his crib by the new year! Bryce is very busy with work, the paramedic program, and the fire station, so he is only home long enough to eat, sleep, and get ready the next morning. But his hard work was recognized at his Wheatland Fire Award Dinner, where he was awarded a gorgeous plaque for Fire Fighter Intern of the Year! Woo Hoo! Bryce turned 23 on the 19th, but had to work, so we just had a late cake celebration at his parents on his way home. I am very busy taking care of Jace with his many appointments, but they seem to be getting less and less, thank goodness! I am also trying to get our house ready to open my preschool, but the progress is slow. Hope all is well with all of you also! :) Happy Holidays!

Yay! I finally got a chance to do a photo shoot with Jace and I really like most of the pictures I got. He's such a camera ham!
